Britain – The World’s Most Charitable Nation

A study carried out by www.UnLtdWorld.com, which is a social network especially for social entrepreneurs provided valuable insight into different countries and how charitable they are.

Spanning sixteen countries, with over 12,000 persons taking part in the research, Britain was in top spot for the most amount of donations given towards charity last year. 83% of Britain’s population gave towards charity, with the next most charitable country being Canada, with 77%. The least charitable country was South Africa, with a mere 31% having donated towards charity.

Out of the 12,000 respondents, 26% donated towards medical charities, especially those dealing with disease and health issues. These kinds of charities seemed to be the charity of choice to a majority of the respondents, indicating that most people considered it worthy of their donations. Charities working on child-related issues and Third World Aid came in as the second and third most preferred charities for donations, with the research results showing 18% and 17% respectively.

Animal welfare charities were preferred by around 14% of the respondents, while 10% chose to make donations towards charities working towards assisting homeless people. In the USA, 49% picked animal charities as the most worthy charities to receive donations, while in India respondents’ most popular choices for charity were those targeted at children.

UnLtdWorld.com’s Chief Executive Officer, Alberto Nardelli said that the study carried out by them was useful towards gaining a better understanding regarding different countries and their varied opinions regarding different charities. He even pointed out how different views could be according to the country, with almost 50% of Americans considering animal charities worthy of their donations, while only 3% of the Dutch even considered making donations towards them.

Organizing a Fun Casino Night for Charity

Fundraising for charity does not have to be boring. You can make it as fun and exciting as you want it to be. The important thing about charity events is making it interesting enough for people to want to be a part of it. The more popular it is, the more successful it will be.

One great charity fundraiser is a Fun Casino Night. The gambling at a Fun Casino Night does not involve real money. Instead, you get to make all your guests feel like high rollers and top-end spenders without ever having to worry about gambling their life savings away. Most areas have strict legislation with regards to gambling, thus, fun casinos are safe and will not encounter any problems along the way.

So, if there is no real money involved with the gambling, how would you go about making money for the charity? Tickets! When you are setting the ticket price, ensure that you factor in the costs of hosting the fun casino night, prizes, food and then of course the percentage that goes towards the charity. The best idea would be to put away 50% of the ticket price towards the charity.

Since there is no money involved, you might want to organize a few prizes for the high performers at your fun casino night. This will not only give people more incentive to stay on at the event, but would also draw in a bigger crowd – which essentially means more money for your charity.
Getting organized is not easy. You need to sort out all the necessary casino equipment, décor, costumes and even a theme for the party. If it seems too complicated, just go ahead and hire a casino hire company – who will take care of the entire party.

England’s Football Team Donates World Cup Fees towards Charity

For the first time in England’s football history, the team will donate their match fees set aside for the World Cup.

This decision means that the team, trained by Fabio Capello will be instrumental in raising over £1 million towards charities such as the Team England Footballer’s Charity Outreach Programme, the PFA, the Bobby Moore Fund, Children’s Hospices UK and WellChild.

Bearing the motto ‘Together we’re stronger’, the poster campaign was launched by the players themselves to create awareness regarding this first-time initiative and charities chosen by them.

John Terry said all the players had agreed to donate the match fees as they all agreed that being given the opportunity to represent their country was a privilege enough, and thus did not feel right to be paid for it as well. Therefore, the decision to make the donation towards charity was a unanimous one.

The team left for Austria on Sunday morning for a training camp. Five players involved in the FA Cup final on Saturday and Gareth Berry stayed back. They are due to the join the rest of the team on the 2nd of June. Meanwhile, they will work under Capello’s acclimatization programme which is fashioned around playing football at altitude. The five players who stayed back are David James, John Terry, Frank Lampard, Ashley Cole and Joe Cole.

The players in Austria will return to England on Sunday, when they are scheduled to play a friendly match against Mexico at Wembley. The 26th of May will see them going back to Austria in order to finish off their preparations before the big game. They have another friendly match in Graz on May 30th, which is against Japan.

Benefits of used car donation

Donating some of your possessions for charity is a noble thing to do. People don’t expect anything in return for their donation except perhaps a “Thank You”. But sometimes they can give you a tangible return, like for a used car donation for instance.

Automobile donation is actually tax deductible. However, it does not happen automatically and the therefore the donor must fulfill certain obligations. These include acquiring a receipt of the sale of the car by the charity and itemizing tax returns. While this is the only real tangible benefit, there are many other intangible ones as well.

By not sending the car to a junkyard, you are ensuing that it does not rot away there and take up space as garbage. By putting the car back on the road you are also reducing the demand for a car by one. This indirectly ensures that fewer raw materials are being extracted to produce a new car. Although old cars are often recycled, the benefit it gives is outweighed by the harm caused by mining for raw materials and the processing that comes with it.

The donation also helps a needy family by giving them a transport option. You never know, it might even become a means for their livelihood. The bottom line is that your donation will change someone’s life positively. If you are considering car donation in Minnesota, there are plenty of charities you can choose from. The easiest way to locate on that is close to you or your heart is to look online.
